Sales Transaction Completeness

Sales Transaction Completeness

The Sales Transaction Completeness Test is designed to ensure that all legitimate sales transactions have been accurately recorded in the accounting system. This test helps identify any missing or unrecorded sales that could result from system errors, manual oversight, or intentional omissions. By verifying the completeness of sales data, this test supports the integrity of revenue reporting and helps auditors assess whether financial statements reflect the true economic activity of the business.

There are two versions of this test: “Goods” and “Services”. The document requirements are different for each of these two tests. The Goods test requires a delivery note and the Services test does not require a delivery note.

Required documents

  • Sales Invoice

  • Sales Order

Matching behavior

AuditBot will match your documents together using the following logic:

  • Sales Order will be matched to Sales Invoice by Order Reference

  • Sales Invoice will be matched to Nominal Ledger by Order Reference or Invoice Reference (this is a setting you can control at the start of the test)
