Sales Transaction Occurrence

Sales Transaction Occurrence

The Sales Transaction Occurrence Test verifies that all recorded sales transactions actually took place and are supported by appropriate documentation. This test is critical for detecting fictitious or duplicate sales entries that may overstate revenue. By confirming the existence and validity of recorded sales, this test helps ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial reporting, and guards against fraud or data entry errors.

There are two versions of this test: “Goods” and “Services”. The document requirements are different for each of these two tests. The Services test can accept Period of Service if available, the Goods test does not require Period of Service documents.
